The east wind lifted her hair mildly,
she turned towards me,
As she flicked it back into its place.
She gave a cute smile,
The one responsible of all this.
We walked holding our hands.
Nothing mattered except the present,
Not a single memory of the past,
Not a single thought about the future.
She had me and I had her.
As the steps progressed,
The outside world started to blur,
She looked me in the eye,
And kissed me softly.
We walked towards the horizon,
As we started a new story,
The story of love, The story of us.
One more question.. Where did they reach finally?? After all they were walking towards the horizon…. Any thoughts on “reaching” the horizon friends..? Vinoth correctly pointed out that the fabric of time is not linear for something as true as love .. Then what could it be for something as unreal as the horizon ?? Or is it real ? Is it just the trabsient perspective of the walker?

Venturing a guess here. I don’t think they have a destination in mind. The path they take is like an embodiment of infinity. The horizon probably represents the approaching infinity part. They’ll never be able to reach it which is great since they’ll forever be in love.

I have a doubt here. If there isn’t a single memory of the past, how could they identify each other? I can’t just walk around with a stranger!!

You are forgetting the fact that love has no boundaries and can move across dimensions like time. So the question of past, present and the future becomes irrelevant as the fabric of time is not linear for something as true as love.

Hmm. He must have solved those equations before coming for a walk. Ingenious! But as you can see, his outside world started to blur in no time. Everything has its own side effects!

The point to be noted here though is the importance of the moment. The ephemeral nature of it has been beautifully portrayed in this piece of work (or should I say art?).

True that! I doubt who painted it when they were all kissing and walking. He(the walker) should file a complaint against privacy breach. But, the painter is clearly clever. He painted the faces black. Looks like it’s gonna be a tough case to win!!

Not a problem if he could afford the Suits cast. Those guys are the best at winning cases. The plaintiff wouldn’t stand a chance.

@vinoth1993: Rightly agree to your views. But I am still at doubt as to why they walked always. They could have ran, sat or even slept in between. Poor chap! He must have been tired after those long walks!

I think the walking signifies the fact that life is a long walk. If you sleep or sit, then someone might overtake you kinda like the hare and tortoise. But I still think they could have rented a bike or car.

He must have left his wallet at home. Or maybe his friend stole it. Anyways, he should have asked if she carried some money with her!

Epicness personified. Your words transgress this physical world. They have taken me to a dimension that I can’t even begin to comprehend.

Its like reading a twilight movie where the story is banal but the casting isn’t.

But the story carries this essence too, that speaks to you from the depths of the void which we call language. The way the words immerse you makes you feel like you are suspended in this frail world which we call home.
